Abstract

ABSTRACT Nita Fadhila. THE DIFFICULTIES OF STUDENTS WRITING A THESIS AT STKIP PGRI PACITAN IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2022/2023. S1-Thesis. English Education Department. STKIP PGRI Pacitan 2023. This study aims to identify students’ difficulties in writing a thesis at STKIP PGRI Pacitan and examine the students’ strategies to overcome the obstacles. The study used qualitative research with a descriptive method. There were 46 respondents from eight semesters of study in STKIP PGRI Pacitan as the research subject. Questionnaires collected the data. The research instrument was a questionnaire sheet. The process used in data analysis techniques is data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The results showed that the students have difficulties in determining the topic and title, identifying and formulating the research problem, writing the literature review, determining the research method, collecting the research data, analyzing the data, processing and displaying the data, publishing the research article, doing the thesis guidance, managing the time in writing a thesis.
