Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of using the Storyjumper website on students’ writing skills of tenth grade at SMKN Ngadirojo in academic year of 2021/2022. The research objective are: (1) Describing Storyjumper website influence the writing ability. (2) Identifying how can Storyjumper website theoretically influence to students’ writing skill. (3) Revealing how is the response of the students in using Storyjumper website. The subject of this study consist of 20 students of class X Accounting 2. The method that used in this research was an experimental with one group pre-test-post-test research design. The research instrument was essay test and questionnaire. Hypothesis testing used paired sample test to determine the effect. Before testing the hypothesis, the researcher conducted a prerequisite test, namely the normality test and homogeneity test. Researchers also distributed questionnaires to find out students’ responses about influence of Storyjumper to writing skill of students. Based on the results of the calculation, the researcher find a significant influence of Storyjumper on students’ writing by using the paired sample test. The significance value of Sig. (P value) = 0.000 < = α = 0.05. So, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. It can be conclude that there is a significant influence of using the Storyjumper website media on the writing skill of tenth grades at SMKN Ngadirojo in academic year of 2021/2022. The results report that Storyjumper website is a powerful tool to facilitate collaborative writing development in language classes. It proves that the Storyjumper website can affect students’ writing indicators which include content, organization, vocabulary, language use/grammar, and mechanics. Then, the average student response to the influence of using a Storyjumper website on students’ writing skills is 83%, which means "very positive".
