Abstract

ABSTRAK Rima Damayanti. Makna Makanan Simbol dalam Upacara Tradisional di Kabupaten Pacitan (Kajian Semiotik). Skripsi. Pacitan: STKIP PGRI Pacitan, 2022. Penelitain ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan klasifikasi ragam dan deskripsi makna makanan simbol dalam upacara tradisional di Kabupaten Pacitan yakni Tetaken, Ceprotan dan Badut Sinampurno. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 9 orang narasumber yang terdiri atas 3 kepala desa, 2 juru kunci upacara tradisional, 1 pemeran upacara tradisional, 1 pelaku upacara tradisional dan 2 tokoh masyarakat. Objek kajiannya adalah nama-nama makanan dan makna manakan simbol dalam upacara tradisional di Kabupaten Pacitan. Metode penyediaan datanya diperoleh dari observasi dan wawancara. Adapun metode analisis datanya adalah dengan cara mengumpulkan data, mengklasifikasikan ragam, menganalisis makna, dan menyajikan deskripsi data. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa pada upacara tradisional di Kabupaten Pacitan terdapat ragam makanan diantaranya 1) ragam fungsi yang terdiri atas fungsi ritual dan fungsi perayaan; dan 2) ragam berdasarkan jenisnya yakni makanan pokok, makanan kudapan, lauk pauk, sayur, buah-buahan dan minuman. Sedangkan makna makanan simbol ditemukan makna 1) harapan; 2) permintaan; 3) syukur; 4) penghormatan; 5) asal-usul manusia; dan 6) keberagaman. Bentuk makna makanan simbol di atas dibedah menggunakan kajian semiotik. Kata kunci: Makanan, Simbol, Upacara ABSTRACT Rima Damayanti. The meaning of food symbols of traditional ceremonies in Pacitan district (semiotic studies). Thesis. Pacitan: STKIP PGRI Pacitan, 2022. The purpose of this study were producing a classification of variety and a description the meaning of food symbols of traditional ceremonies in Pacitan regency, namely: Tetaken, Ceprotan and Badut Sinampurno. This research was a qualitative research. The subjects in this study were 9 persons as resources. They are consisting of 3 village chiefs, 2 traditional ceremony caretakers, 1 traditional ceremony performer, 1 traditional ceremony performer and 2 community leaders. The object of this study were the names of foods and the meaning of food symbols of traditional ceremonies in Pacitan regency. The data providing method in this study was obtained from observation and interviews. The data analysis method is by collecting data, classifying variety, analyzing meaning, and presenting a description of the data. Based on the results of data analysis can be concluded that in traditional ceremonies in Pacitan regency there were various foods such as 1) a variety of functions consisting of ritual functions and celebration functions; and 2) variety based on the type, namely staple food, snack food, side dishes, vegetables, fruits and drinks. While the meaning of food symbols are found as the meaning of 1) hope; 2) requests; 3) gratitude; 4) respect; 5) human origins; and 6) diversity. The meaning shape of the food symbols above were dissected using a semiotic study. Keyword: Food, Symbol, Ceremonies
