Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika sering kali dianggap kurang menarik sehingga berdampak pada rendahnya keaktifan peserta didik. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, diperlukan strategi inovatif, salah satunya melalui metode game based learning (GBL). Kegiatan ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan keaktifan peserta didik kelas X SMAN Tulakan pada materi persamaan dan fungsi kuadrat melalui penerapan metode GBL. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif yang terdiri dari beberapa tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, serta analisis. Subjeknya adalah 31 peserta didik kelas X-1 di SMAN Tulakan yang dipilih dengan teknik random sampling. Pengambilan data diperoleh melalui observasi semi-terstruktur, dokumentasi, dan wawancara, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yang mencakup reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan. Simpulan dari kegiatan ini terbukti bahwa metode GBL mampu meningkatkan keaktifan peserta didik kelas X-1 dilihat dari kontribusi pada diskusi kelompok, kerja sama, antusiasme serta respon yang baik selama kegiatan pembelajaran dilakukan. Kata Kunci: Keaktifan, GBL, Persamaan kuadrat, Fungsi kuadrat ABSTRACT Mathematics learning is often considered uninteresting, resulting in low student engagement. To overcome this, innovative strategies are needed, one of which is through the game-based learning (GBL) method. This activity aims to describe the engagement of grade X students at SMAN Tulakan in quadratic equations and functions through the application of the GBL method. The activity was conducted using a qualitative descriptive approach consisting of several stages of planning, implementation, observation, and analysis. The subjects were 31 students in class X-1 at SMAN Tulakan, selected using random sampling techniques. Data collection was obtained through semi-structured observation, documentation, and interviews, then analysed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The conclusion of this activity proved that the GBL method was able to increase the activity of students in class X-1 as seen from their contribution to group discussions, cooperation, enthusiasm, and positive responses during the learning activities.
