Abstract

ABSTRAK Nurjayanti. Analisis Pemahaman Matematik dalam Menyelesaikan Masalah Lingkaran Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Islam Nahdlatussubban. Skripsi. Pacitan: STKIP PGRI Pacitan, 2020. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) mengetahui pemahaman matematik siswa dalam memecahkan masalah pada materi Lingkaran, 2) faktor yang mempengaruhi rendahnya pemahaman siswa dalam memecahkan masalah matematika khususnya pada materi Lingkaran. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dimana hasil dari penelitian diuraikan dalam bentuk kata-kata. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VIII di SMP Islam Nahdlatussubban. Objek penelitian yang dikaji yaitu pemahaman matematik dalam memecahkan masalah lingkaran pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) ketidakmampuan subjek dalam menyelesaikan masalah lingkaran meliputi: a) tidak mampu dalam menyerap materi dimana subjek tidak dapat menuliskan dan menjelaskan apa yang diketahui dan ditanyakan secara tepat, b) tidak mampu mengingat rumus dimana subjek tidak dapat menuliskan serta menjelaskan rumus yang harus digunakan untuk menyelesaikan soal secara tepat, c) tidak mampu menerapkan rumus yaitu dimana subjek tidak dapat menuliskan dan menjelaskan langkah-langkah dalam penyelesaian denga jelas dan runtut sesuai rumus yang digunakan, d) tidak mampu memperkirakan kebenaran dimana subjek tidak dapat menuliskan dan menjelaskan kesimpulan dari hasil perhitungan dengan yakin dan tepat. 2) Faktor yang mempengaruhi rendahnya pemahaman siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah lingkaran meliputi; ketidakmampuan dalam menerjemahkan soal ke dalam bahasa matematik, kecerbohan dan ketidaktelitian dalam melakukan perhitungan, kesulitan dalam menerima materi, serta ketidaksukaan terhadap pelajaran matematika. This study aims to reveal: 1) students 'mathematical understanding in solving problems in the circle material, 2) the factors that influence the students' low understanding in solving math problems, especially in the circle material. This type of research used in this research is descriptive qualitative research where the results of the research are described in words. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII at SMP Islam Nahdlatussubban. The research object studied was mathematical understanding in solving circle problems in the even semester of the 2019/2020 school year. The results showed: 1) the inability of the subject to solve circle problems including: a) inability to absorb material where the subject was unable to write and explain what was known and asked correctly, b) was unable to remember formulas where the subject could not write and explain the formula which must be used to solve the problem appropriately, c) was unable to apply the formula, namely where the subject cannot write and explain the steps in the solution clearly and coherently according to the formula used, d) was unable to predict the truth where the subject cannot write and explain the conclusion of the calculation results confidently and preciselyj. 2) Factors that affect students' low understanding in solving circle problems include; inability to translate questions into mathematical language, carelessness and inaccuracy in doing calculations, difficulty in receiving material, and dislike of mathematics.
