Abstract
ABSTRACT SATRIO SANDI YUDHA. 2020.Vocabulary Enhancement via Three-Step Interview Synergized with Short Video at the XI IPS2 Grade Students’ of SMA N 1 Ngadirojo in the Academic year 2019/2020 .Thesis. Advisor I: Hasan Khalawai, M.Pd, Advisor II: Samsul Hadi, M.Pd, Pacitan. English Education Study Program, Teacher Training and Education College. STKIP PGRI Pacitan. 2020. This research is a classroom action research which aims to improve students' vocabularies using Three-Step Interview Synergized with Short Video. This research was aimed at knowing whether Three-Step Interview Synergized with Short video can increase vocabulary mastery, to find out the advantage and disadvantages of the ThreeStep Interview Synergized with Short video to increase vocabulary mastery, to know how response of the students’ to the use of Three-Step Interview Synergized with Short video in their teaching learning of vocabulary mastery at the tenth grade of SMA N 1 Ngadirojo in the academic year 2019/2020. Three-Step Interview Synergized with Short video defines as a strategy which is used in the classroom activity. The subject of this research is class XI IPS 2 and the research started in March 2020. This research was conducted following model with the following procedures of the action research: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The study was carried out in two cycles. Method of data collection used observation, documentation, test and interview. Instrument of the research used field note, camera, test sheet and interview sheet. Data analysis were mastery learning individually reaches 75% or a value of 75 (KKM), classical completeness 85% achieve individual completeness and drawing conclusion. The research finding showed that the application of Three-Step Interview Synergized with Short video could improve the XI IPS 2 grade students' vocabulary. Based on the result of cycle I there were only 3 students or 14% of students who have completed their studies. Because in cycle 1 the percentage of students who have completed their studies 3 students or 14% and who have not yet completed their studies 18 students’ or 86% the researcher continued to cycle 2. The result of cycle II, there were 20 students’ or 95% of students have achieve the minimum criteria their studies it also showed the effective progressing of subjects' ability in vocabulary. It is concluded that Students' vocabulary increase by used Three-Step Interview Synergized with Short Video at the XI IPS 2 of SMAN 1 Ngadirojo is improved. The advantages it makes learning process more interested, active and increase the motivation in class. Keywords: CAR, Vocabulary, Cooperative learning type, Short video
