Abstract

ABSTRACT Wahyu Kristianto. The Use of Google Jamboard as a Media to Improve Students Writing Skills of the Tenth-Grade Students SMKN 3 Pacitan Academic Year 2022/2023 (a Classroom Action Research). Thesis. Pacitan: STKIP PGRI Pacitan, 2023. This research aimed to know whether the application of Google Jamboard as a learning media can improve students` writing skills in the tenth-grade students of SMK Negeri 3 Pacitan in the academic year 2022/2023 and this research also aimed to know the students` responses toward the application of Google Jamboard as a media for teaching writing. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was conducted in two cycles. This research was conducted at SMK Negeri 3 Pacitan. The research subjects were students of the 10TAV2 class consisting of 32 students. The researcher used the purposive sampling method to determine the sample. The researcher used student tests, observations, and questionnaires to take the data. The test results are analyzed using the quantitative method, while the results of the observation and questionnaire are analyzed using the qualitative method. The indicator of success is the average score of students has reached the standards of completeness (75). Then, positive student responses are also used as indicators of the success of this research. The students` tests showed an improvement in students` average scores. The students got an average score of 58,6 on the pre-test, 64 on post-test I, and 77,2 on post-test II. In observation, Students who paid attention improved by 22%, active students improved by 43%, enthusiasts enhanced by 31%, and the number of students who faced difficulties decreased by 37%. Then, from the questionnaire, 60.7% agree, and 39,3 disagree that their interests were improved. Then, 75% agree, and 25% disagree that Google Jamboard helps them learn writing. Next, 89.3% and 10,7% disagree that their motivation was increased. And then 89.3% agree, and 10,7% disagree that their activeness was improved. Moreover, 75% agree, and 25% disagree that Google Jamboard increases their creativity. thirteen students answered that writing class was fun and beneficial. Eight students answered that the writing class was given a new experience, good, and increased knowledge. Some of the students experienced difficulty in using this writing media because they had never used it before, but the majority of the students quickly adapted to using Google Jamboard as a media for learning writing.
