Abstract
Resi Wulandari, AN ANALYSIS OF THE USE OF CODE-SWITCHING ON THE FILM “MY NERD GIRL” DIRECTED BY KUNTZ AGUS Code-switching in sociolinguistics is oral communication with a switch and mixing the words, phrases, and clauses in another language of some situation. It occurred in the various areas of communication. This research discussed code-switching in the film series "My Nerd Girl." The aims of this research are (1) to identify the types of code-switching used in the film My Nerd Girl directed by Kuntz Agus and (2) to find out the hidden meaning of the code-switching function used in the film My Nerd Girl directed by Kuntz Agus. This research used descriptive qualitative. The primary data for this research was obtained from the film series "My Nerd Girl." The form of data relied on human instruments, library research, and a small set of data sources. The technique used in gathering and analyzing the content of the text. The data validation of this research used triangulation. There were three steps to analyzing data: data collection, data selection, data display, and conclusion. The result of this research was 37 data points, which were divided into three types of code-switching. The 37 data were divided into three types of code-switching: (1) tag switching 2 data, (2) inter-sentential switching 0 data, and (3) intra-sentential switching 35 data. The dominance of the research is man and girl. Three factors that influence code-switching are social factors, cultural factors, and individual factors. Three reasons for code-switching were the inability to express something in one particular language, expressing solidarity, and variation of formality.
